SSERC invites 5 secondary teachers to apply for an industry placement at Merck BioReliance CTS in Glasgow. Whilst any teacher of STEM can apply, the placement is ideal for biology and chemistry teachers who are interested learning more about relevant workplaces, the practical skills required, careers pathways and overall developing careers education knowledge to help inspire and support their learners. The placement is two days long and will require you to be away from school at the placement providers location all day.
As the leading provider of contract services in the biopharmaceutical industry, supporting every phase of the testing, development and manufacturing process, teachers
will be given practical insights into how lab methods are performed through practical training in aseptic techniques, analysis of GMP studies and the impact to medicines, patients and gene products.
