SSERC invites 5 secondary teachers to apply for an industry placement at LifeScan in Inverness. Whilst any teacher of STEM can apply, the placement is ideal for biology and chemistry teachers who are interested learning more about relevant workplaces, the practical skills required, careers pathways and overall developing careers education knowledge to help inspire and support their learners. The placement is two days long and will require you to be away from school at the placement providers location all day.
LifeScan Scotland is a diabetes medical device manufacturer. Billions of test strips are produced every year at the Inverness site and shipped to customers worldwide to aid in their diabetes management. This placement covers the blood glucose monitoring test strip and quality laboratory teams and will incorporate time within GMP and GLP environments, with insight into the laboratory processes required for regulatory submissions and ongoing quality control.
