Climate Heroes provides schools with the opportunity to be matched with an industry volunteer and to work with them to bring the curriculum to life to support young people in developing their understanding of skills required for a sustainable economy.
Through delivering activities in partnership with a Climate Hero young people will learn about the different pathways to enter a sustainable and circular economy and the need for collaboration between sectors to achieve Scotland’s climate targets.
A Climate Hero is matched with a school over a 12 month period and during this time they engage with their matched school for a minimum of an hour per term and provide a minimum 5 day work experience placement for at least 1 young person. The work experience placement should have a focus on sustainability and support young people to take one step closer to both entering the world of work.
