BBC Verify on Tour returns with an online event for young people aged 14+, focused on media literacy, misinformation and careers in the creative industries. Streaming live from Nottingham Trent University, the day begins with “Filter the Fakes,” a BBC Verify masterclass helping young people think critically about what they read, see and share online. An interactive workshop then puts participants in the role of BBC Verify producers as they investigate a fast‑moving viral rumour, learning how journalists verify breaking news, identify manipulated audio and make responsible editorial decisions. A Media Careers Panel follows, featuring industry professionals and the BBC Early Careers team offering insights into routes into journalism, production and apprenticeships. The final session explores TV formats with Nottingham’s Zahirah Zapanta from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, offering a behind‑the‑scenes look at storytelling, performance and how entertainment shows are produced.
