Making sense of politics

Work Inspiration and Preparation Provided by The Royal Society of Edinburgh

With the next Scottish Parliament election coming up in 2026, this session is a chance for pupils to think about what kind of politics they want to see in Scotland. We’ll look at how young people can get involved in political discussions, make sense of party campaigns and manifestos, and feel more confident engaging with what’s happening around them.
What does responsible campaigning look like? We’ll explore that alongside ethical decision-making and how to spot misinformation. By the end, we hope students feel better equipped to think critically, ask questions, and take an active role in shaping the political future they want to see.
