Ocean Winds Scholarships are intended to encourage and support students with a passion for subjects that are relevant for the wide range of roles required in development, construction and operation of offshore wind farms. They are designed to help fund talented young people from Moray, Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen City and Highland whilst studying an undergraduate course at a UK university. The programme will prioritise students that may not otherwise study at university, students studying STEM subjects, or other subjects relevant to the sector.
The award will be an annual £1,500 scholarship to students over the course of their undergraduate degree, up to a maximum of £6,000 over 4 years, paid each year.
Applicants must have completed (or completing) secondary education at a state-funded school or college and have a conditional or an unconditional offer, or in existing study, for an undergraduate degree of either a STEM subject; or one that is relevant in the offshore wind sector
