Applications for the Research Placement Programme are now open. Formerly the Nuffield Research Placement Programme, S5 pupils can spend 2 or 3 weeks in a university or industry over the summer, completing a research project. Producing a scientific report and poster, this opportunity ensures that participants’ work has a meaningful impact.
Placements can be in any of the STEM related subjects, including social sciences, data science and geography/environmental.
SSERC co-ordinates the Research Placement Programme in Scotland and is hosting 2 online information sessions for pupils to find out more and how to apply.
Registration for these sessions are below. Eligibility criteria apply.
Session 1: 21st January 4-4:30pm
Session 2: 29th January 12:30-1pm
Pupils can start their application now and will be able to apply directly for placements from February onwards.
Note that in Scotland we offer the 2 week Research Placement Programme and do not offer the 1 week Work Experience Programme.
